Endeca is generally known as an enterprise search technology company, mentioned alongside FAST and Vivisimo (which also raised an institutional round this week – see next story), at least until Microsoft purchased the former back in January for $1.2 billion. Around the same timeframe, Endeca secured strategic investment commitments from Intel Capital and SAP Ventures.
