The term ‘lead logistics provider’ has been used to mean many things. Perhaps the most common usage is analogous to the ‘tier 0 supplier’ concept in the automotive industry – appointing one supplier that will assume the responsibility for ensuring that all of the other related suppliers are executing their parts according to plan.
