Red Herring announced that Logispring portfolio company Confidex Ltd. is a recipient of the Red Herring 100 Europe, an award given to the top 100 private technology companies based in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region each year.  “This year's impressive list of winners demonstrates Europe's emergence as a major player in the global technology sector,” said Red Herring Editor-in-Chief, Joel Dreyfuss.  “The exceptional accomplishments of European technology companies and entrepreneurs are a testament to the rapid advancements being made in building the European innovation ecosystem.”  Red Herring seeks identify new and innovative technology companies and entrepreneurs. Companies like Google, eBay and Skype were spotted in their early days by Red Herring editors, and touted as leaders that would change the way we live and work.
While it is probably a bit of an exaggeration to claim that the technology companies on Red Herring’s 100 Europe list represent a major force in the global technology sector, the recognition is nonetheless welcome and from D&N’s perspective, well deserved.  Confidex has in some measure contributed to a re-shaping of the industrial RFID market, helping break down the ‘vertically integrated’ solutions (silicon, tag, reader, software) that had been prevalent by demonstrating how much value (and competitive advantage) exists in the critical step of designing how tags should be designed for specific end-uses, incorporating standard third-party silicon, to address high-volume manufacturing economic objectives.
