Distributed Green Energy

Alpheon Energy helps companies generate 'green' renewable energy from their existing assets.

With the advent of many new renewable power generation technologies that can be placed 'in-situ' at company premises,  there is a largely untapped opportunity to utilize existing assets (e.g., rooftops, parking lots, unused land) as locations for siting small-scale powerplants, including wind, photovoltaic and solar thermal.  At the same time, it is difficult for individual companies to develop the expertise and buying power needed to design and operate such facilities profitably.

Alpheon determines the appropriate technologies for each location, builds and operates the generation systems.  The company is in a development stage, with its first pilot underway.

Emissions Management Software

Lysanda develops emissions management software for motor vehicles.  The company has perfected a system that gives drivers and fleet managers the real-time information and tools they need to reduce fuel costs and CO2 emissions.
Lysanda's Eco-Log™ is an on-board device which gathers data about the way the vehicle is being operated and enables the operator to identify, in real time, the actual level and composition of a vehicle's emissions.  Key indicators based on this data can be  presented to the driver and transmitted back to the fleet management centre, via the GPRS or other mobile data networks.  Giving operators the information they need to operate their vehicles at a more optimum level of efficiency reduces fuel costs and environmental impact.

Real Time Business Intelligence for the Event-Driven Enterprise

SeeWhy Software is a leading vendor of Operational Business Intelligence software. The SeeWhy system is a self-tuning Operational Business Intelligence platform that monitors and interprets the impact of enterprise-wide business events. Captured via integration software, web services or direct from application databases, these events are evaluated in real time to give immediate notification or action where required.

Operational BI is a new approach to understanding and monitoring the performance of your business in real time. Fundamentally different from traditional reporting, Operational BI does not rely on queries against a data warehouse or operational database, but is fed business events, one transaction at a time directly by integration software. These events are then interpreted in real-time to detect significant conditions that operations staff need to be alerted to, or initiate actions automatically.

SeeWhy Software was established in 2002 by Business Objects veteran Charles Nicholls.
